Our ancestors taught us: “Protect the land, so our children can see its beauty.” We believe that being kind to each coffee bean we produce is a way of being kind to ourselves and to everyone around us.

OUR PROCESS

Bazan Coffee takes pride in its meticulous production process and modern technology, which includes the following steps:

1. Harvesting Ripe Cherries: We carry out manual harvesting, selecting 100% ripe cherries, surpassing the 90-99% used by some other premium brands on the market.
2. Pre-processing: The pre-processing stage is conducted with care, strictly controlling the fermentation process to ensure the highest and most consistent quality for each type of bean.
3. Drying: While many commercial brands dry coffee on the ground, Bazan Coffee dries on raised beds, which enhances quality.
4. Storage: The coffee is transported to the warehouse of the roasting facility after drying.
5. Roasting: The roasting process is carefully executed to preserve the unique flavor profile of the beans.
6. Packaging: Each package of coffee is vacuum-sealed and sealed with a one-way valve, ensuring that the coffee remains as fresh as if it were just roasted when it reaches our customers.

Notably, Bazan Coffee researches and leads new fermentation methods, including anaerobic fermentation from 24 hours to 72 hours, depending on the specific characteristics of each type of bean.

Through our manual process, each package of coffee not only delivers exceptional flavor but also reflects the care and dedication of our production team, ensuring that customers receive the best product possible.

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW

What is USDA ORGANIC coffee?

USDA Organic coffee is coffee that has been certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as meeting strict organic standards. This certification ensures that the coffee has been produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, and that it has been grown using sustainable agricultural practices that promote soil health and biodiversity. Organic coffee is typically grown in a way that is environmentally friendly and promotes the well-being of both the land and the farmers who cultivate the coffee beans.

What's your preferred brewing method for coffee and why?

My preferred brewing method for coffee is the pour-over method. I appreciate the control it offers over the brewing process, allowing me to adjust variables such as water temperature, pour rate, and brewing time to tailor the flavor profile of each cup. The pour-over method also tends to highlight the nuances of different coffee beans, resulting in a clean and flavorful brew that I find deeply satisfying.

How does the bean origin affect your coffee's taste?

The bean origin plays a significant role in shaping the taste of coffee. Different regions produce coffee beans with distinct flavor profiles influenced by factors such as climate, soil composition, altitude, and processing methods. For example, beans from Ethiopia may offer floral and fruity notes, while beans from Brazil might have nutty and chocolatey flavors. Understanding the origin of the beans can help coffee enthusiasts anticipate and appreciate the unique characteristics present in each cup, enhancing the overall coffee experience.

Have you tried various roast levels to find your ideal cup?

Many coffee enthusiasts enjoy experimenting with different roast levels to find their ideal cup. Roast levels can significantly impact the flavor profile of coffee, with lighter roasts often preserving more of the bean's natural flavors and acidity, while darker roasts tend to develop richer, bolder flavors with less acidity. Finding the perfect roast level is a personal journey that can enhance one's appreciation for the complexities of coffee and tailor the brew to individual preferences.

What is Fair Trade?

The Fair Trade label ensures that the coffee was produced under standards that prioritize fair wages, safe working conditions, environmental sustainability, and the economic development of farming communities. By purchasing Fair Trade coffee, consumers contribute to:

1. Fair Pricing: Fair Trade certification guarantees farmers a minimum price for their coffee, which helps protect them from market volatility and ensures they can cover their costs of production.

2. Social Investment: Fair Trade cooperatives often receive a “Fair Trade Premium” – an additional sum invested in community projects like schools, healthcare facilities, and infrastructure, or in improving the farmers’ businesses.

3. Environmental Standards: Fair Trade emphasizes sustainable farming practices, like minimizing chemical use, protecting biodiversity, and promoting organic practices where possible.

4. Empowerment of Smallholder Farmers: By working with cooperatives and organizations that represent farmers, Fair Trade certification aims to give farmers more control over their trade relationships, making it easier for them to access global markets

Taste sweet, not acidic

tastes very balanced and interesting, but still a little sweet. I personally prefer sweeter and nuttier coffees, so this one did not taste too bitter or acidic for me
